Welcome to VoyageurSpire!

Maybe you want to move abroad. Maybe you just have. Or maybe you are in the process and need some advice and someone to talk to about the challenges, who truly understands you and have been through much the same? Whichever it is, this is the right place to be, learn, connect and grow. Here you can make a difference both for yourself and others!

The process of moving abroad is a challenging one! Both mentally and physically you go through a lot of stress, many changes, ups & downs, and what not. Both before and during the move, and the integration and adaptation process after, it is all too easy (and extremely normal) to forget to properly look after yourself! Your daily routines get messed up or forgotten, your sleeping pattern changes due to both mental and physical stress, stimuli and changes, you forget to, or skip doing self-care, such as exercise, mindfulness, healthy eating, morning and evening routines, etc. It is also frustratingly normal to feel overwhelmed, isolated, or confused. This is why I decided to share my own experiences, as well as build up a supportive and welcoming community for expats to connect, share valuable insights and advice, share challenges and wins, and ask and answer questions.

Hiya, I’m Nina-Sofie Tuxen

It all began with my own “becoming an expat” process. and a feeling of lacking an understanding and supportive community and extensive guides and checklists on how to best organise such a big move and life change. How to navigate all the administrative stuff like applying for a visa, and even finding out which visa to apply for, where to look and apply for jobs, and so much more. I felt comfortable with some aspects, but far from all, as I’ve lived abroad before, but only for 5 months, and only through studies.

These “lacks of” in my own experience inspired me to, this time, share my experiences and knowledge about moving abroad and share insights into all the different aspects. Hopefully my experiences can help make someone else’s experience easier and more organised!

Dream it

There is no reason why you shouldn’t dream about moving abroad sometime in your life! Write things down as you visualise them, describe your dreams, goals and your why! Where would you like to go and why?

Build it

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. Just do! Well, start with some research, planning, and then do. The experiences, insights, new knowledge, and connections you get from living abroad in a different country and culture is INVALUABLE! So don’t just dream it, BUILD IT!
